hi there. the website is back! and now featuring… a blog?
it’s funny, blogging was one of my first internet ventures— I made a club penguin themed wordpress blog, like several of my friends at the time. I’ve revisited it a few times over the years, still faithfully hosted by wordpress, and it is… a relic. but also undeniably mine.
after that there was the journal on deviantart, livejournal, and then tumblr which quickly devolved into something less than blogging. and so now we return to wordpress and enter a new blogging era, because i inevitably have some things to say.
as of now i am thinking i will mostly use this for art updates— previews of what i’m working on, behind the scenes, all of the poorly lit late night pictures i take of whatever is currently in progress. and maybe it will get me to use other social media less.
but for now i am just saying hello world! for those of you who may not know, i am lux pacifica, an artist and maker (among other things). i am from southern california but moved to st. louis earlier this year. i work with acrylic and oil paint as well as collage, clay, markers, metals, and a variety of computer programs to make paintings, jewelry, zines and all manner of art.
i’m interested in nostalgia, identity, memory, childhood, bright colors, and emo music. i’m sure there’s more but you can peruse the rest of the site for all that.
most recently, i took a little jewelry break to switch my site over from wix and prepare for the holidays and am just getting into it again. here’s some recent creations:
i’m working on a lot of holiday present goodies which i’m very excited about including some fiber art that i can’t wait to put together. it’s hard having so many ideas but still having to work full time!!
